The Molino is located in the municipality of Gaiole in Chianti and is set in a typical Chianti landscape of gentle vineclad hills alternating with mountains cloaked in woods of ancient chestnuts, firs and cypress trees. The property itself includes the mill, a small guesthouse, three outbuildings and a newly built pool. The land covers 9.5 hectares and is grown with a “merlot” vineyard, an olive grove and a fruit orchard. Falcons and owls, deer and stags, horses and wild boar are an integral part of the fauna that inhabits the woods around the Molino, while the streams in the surrounding territory are home to trouts.
The Molino covers 360m2 and offers 13 rooms spreading on three floors. Fully restored and equipped, accommodation is perfect for family and friends or for a small letting business. The bedrooms are decorated in typical Tuscan style and there is a large kitchen with an open hearth where one can spend relaxing evenings in front of a crackling fire sipping a glass of fine Chianti Classico wine. The guest house is built on two levels and measures 70m2. It has 5 rooms and is fully equipped as a self-contained apartment. Charming and cosy, it has all comforts for guests who seek privacy and flair. The annexes measure 97 – 54 and 135m2. The latter can be converted into living space if one wants to run a B&B business. The peaceful and quiet atmosphere that characterise the area make it particularity suitable for a relaxing holiday allowing visitors to unwind from the stressful citylife. The area is suitable for mountain biking, trekking, fishing, horse-riding and wine tours. Art cities such as Florence, Siena, Arezzo are within easy reach, as are the small but delightful towns such as Gaiole, Montebenichi, Radda, Castellina in Chianti, Monteriggioni, Greve in Chianti. Just a few Kilometres further on, one can visit Grosseto and fine coastal areas such as the Argentario promontory, the Orbetello lagoon (a WWF oasis), Punta Ala, Castiglione della Pescaia, the atmospheric Maremma countryside or the mountain landscapes of Monte Amiata.
