Property

The property consists of the Castle which dates back to 1250. It has been recently (1990) completely and very accurately restored by the present owner, in respect of its historical character. The castle is currently used as a private home by the owner himself and is therefore totally functional. The property comprises two farm houses and some smaller buildings. The farm houses have been converted into comfortable apartments currently running as B&B. There is a fully equipped wine cellar, horse stables, servant’s quarters, a beautiful indoor/outdoor pool and a helipad with official landing permission. The land totals 61 hectares: 11 hectares of Chianti Colli Fiorentini vineyards (8 hectares in produce and 3 to be planted next year), 15 hectares with olive trees (approx. 3000 units) and the remaining are woods and prairies. The castle has three floors: - The ground floor (approx. 390m2 in size with a glass covered courtyard) consists of a grandt living room, a formal dining room, the antique kitchen which is now the second dining room, the professional kitchen, a small living room, and other services (laundry, wardrobe, oven a.s.o.). The courtyard has been covered by a framework made of iron and glass, which is a masterpiece of modern architecture perfectly integrated with the “historical charm” of the place. - The first floor (approx. 380m2) consists of another grand living room, a private office, a library, one room with painted ceilings from the 18th century, a toilet and a huge bath-dressing room, a TV room, two extra rooms with a common bath room, a private apartment with a bedroom, a dressing room and a bathroom. - The third floor (approx 380 m2) is more “country like” in style (it was the old service floor) and now has two big living rooms, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a deposit-cupboard room. The first farm house consists of 6 elegantly restored and furnished apartments, a common living room, a common dining room, a professional kitchen, a wardrobe, a laundry room, an extra toilet covering a total of about 700 sqm.
